Paws-N-Play Pet Sitting

Paws-N-Play Doggie Daycare Services

Gromit and BaxterLet's face it, if pets had their way, we would never leave them alone. Unfortunately, sometimes we have to. This is where Pet Sitting can be a great alternative! Pet Sitting is an in-home service where all of your pets can stay in the comfort of their home.

We will visit your home up to three times per day to take care of them. In this way, your pets can continue with their regular routine, instead of leaving their home to stay somewhere unfamiliar while you are on vacation or out-of-town. You can lessen the stress of boarding multiple pets, possibly in different locations. Our customers are glad they don't have to impose on family, friends or neighbors (who might forget) to take care of their pets.

Your pets will avoid illness from exposure to other animals and avoid getting unnecessary or extra vaccinations. Our clients really appreciate, that on our visits we can check on your house (to make sure nothing is amiss), give it that "lived-in" look, and also serve as a crime deterrent.

Security and professionalism are of the utmost importance at our company. All of our Pet Sitters must pass a criminal background check and references are scrutinized carefully.

We are bonded and insured. We hold a current business license with the state of Virginia. We consider it a great responsibility that you have given us access to your home and pets. Therefore, we feel it is very important to hire only mature, responsible, respectful and caring adults to fulfill the unique duties of a Pet Sitter. For this reason, we do not hire any Pet Sitters under the age of 25. We are constantly striving to learn more and improve our customers' experience.

We successfully do this by being members of the following professional organizations:

Pet Sitters International

Pet Sitters International

Northern Virginia Professional Pet Sitters
National Association of Professional Pet Sitters

Mid-Day Dog Walks
A Mid-Day Dog Walk is similar to Pet Sitting, but is usually done while the owners are at work or away from their home most of the day. Dogs are social animals and need much more attention and stimulation than other pets. However, many people who work long hours still want to experience the joys of sharing their life with a dog. This is where we can help! A visit from your dog walker, during the middle of the long workday, gives your dog something to look forward to and can help with behavioral issues. We can take care of your dog when you can't be there. Common reasons dog owners use a walking service:

  • Their dog(s) need to go out to relieve themselves during the day.
  • To relieve anxiety of high energy dogs, by exercising and giving them time out of their crate.
  • Their dog needs medication.
  • To give their dog extra attention, thus relieving their guilt about being gone for long hours.
  • To reinforce training and keep them on a regular schedule.
  • Alternate lights or drapes, and take in mail, if necessary.
  • Unconditional love and attention given to all pets by your Pet Sitter.

If you are interested in our Pet Sitting or Dog Walking service, we must first come out to do a "Meet & Greet". This allows you to meet us and give us instructions for care of your pets. Another important component of the Meet & Greet is that we meet your pets so that they will be more familiar with us when we visit them. Also, we will ask you to show us your pets' routine and where all of their supplies are kept such as feeding bowls and litter boxes. As you are explaining what needs to be done in your absence, we will write everything down and make sure we fully understand what to do. There is no fee for this initial meeting and it usually takes less than an hour.

To schedule Pet Sitting or Dog Walking, please call us at 703-257-7522 at least 2 weeks in advance for new customers. For regular customers, we require 4 days notice to avoid an emergency fee. If you're calling for visits during a Holiday, please call earlier as we book up quickly.
